Shocking! Another hide and see in Rivers

POLICE PRESS RELEASE RESCUE OF FOURTEEN (14) OIL WORKERS The Commissioner of Police Rivers State Police Command, CP Francis M. Odesanya in keeping with his pledge to fight all manners of crime and criminality in the state, which pledge is already yielding fruitful result, has again smashed the gang of kidnappers responsible for the abduction of fourteen (14) Oil Workers on the 2 nd  day of September 2016. 2.      The Oil Workers were rescued unhurt due largely to the efforts of the Command’s Tactical Units, who, at the early hours of today 18/9/2016, engaged the hoodlums, in a fierce gun battle which lasted for one and half hours, leading to the rescue of the victims, the hoodlums took to flight abandoning their hostages. Efforts are on to arrest and bring them to justice. 3.      The last of the hostages, seven in number were rescued unhurt bringing the total number to fourteen (14). However, no ransom was paid. They have been debriefed and are receiving medical attention

"Rivers state shall not be conducive any more for criminals" Odesayan

The Rivers State Police Command has declared war against criminality in the state. The commissioner, Francis M. Odesanya made the declaration recently in a press briefing at Port Harcourt.  He said the state will no longer be conducive for criminals, until they surrender. He maintained that with a proactive policing his command will implore the use of intelligence gathering to embark on regular raid of criminal hideouts. According to him, "I pledge to fight crimes and criminality headlong. Rivers state shall not be conducive any more for criminals. We shall be proactive in our policing. Intelligence gathering shall be the hallmark of my administration. We shall embark on regular raid of criminal hideouts"  "Ban on road block is still in force but I shall put in place descent stop and search mechanism which shall aid us in tracking kidnappers and armed robbers with the sole aim of recovering stolen properties". NDDC Make Move To End Regional Crisis

The  Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has began moves to curb regional crisis affecting the people. Speaking in a stakeholders meeting at the Hotel Presidential in Rivers State recently, the acting managing Director, Mrs. Ibim Semenitari, stated that the 2016 Partner for Sustainable Development is a direct product of the Niger Delta Regional Development Master Plan, for collaborating with stakeholders in the Niger Delta region. She averred   that the aim is to create opportunity for partners to look at various challenges plaguing the Niger Delta Region and proffer the way forward. She said the commission in collaboration with the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs would discuss  strategies that will make the region move forward. The Nigeria Police Force in foiling a robbery attempt said, the proactiveness of their security men on ground scared a gang of robbers recently. In a telephone interview with the Public Relations Officer DSP Omoni Nnamdi who confirmed the robbery attempt at First bank Plc. along Rumoula road in Rivers State, noted that the suspected robbers drove towards the bank shooting up the air from their car before the police immediately came and they all fled. He however assured the public to go on with their normal business stressing that the state police command will ensure that  lives and property of the people is being secured.

The All Progressives Congress (APC), has finalized plans to nominate a gubernetorial flagbearer for the forth coming Edo state election holding in September 2016. Sen. Osita Izunaso on Thursday at the Party’s National Secretariat in Abuja diclosed it to journalists that 2873 delegates would be electing the party’s governorship candidate for the primaries scheduled in 18th of June at the Edo State capital, Benin City. INEC says it will continue to conduct rerun in Rivers if...

The Independent National Electoral Commision (INEC) has said it will continue to conduct rerun in Rivers State if politicians fails to support the commission in creating peaceful environment.  Mr. Iniedi Ikoiwak Abasi, state Resident Electoral Commissioner, made it known on Tuesday the 14th of June, 2016  in a consultative meeting with management and critical stakeholders at the Police Officers Mess, port harcort. The commissioner in giving his reasons said, the major set back that had led to the suspension of election in some parts of the state during March 19th rerun election was as a result of some unlawful practices by political gladiators who wanted to stay at home and cook up results. Keshi Died Out Of Mourning Wife?

  Investigations indicates that the former Super Eagles choach Stephen Keshi died while mourning his Wife. Sources diclosed that the wife Mrs. Kate Keshi died arround December 2015 following a protracted illness. According to a family brother named Ado who disclosed the news noted that  ''Keshi never recovered from the death of Kate; they were inseparable. He has gone to meet Kate. Since the wife died Keshi has kept on mourning and has been in sorrow. All these time Keshi has been acting, giving the impression that he was fine and man enough to bear the sorrow but the truth actually is that he was down and in pain over the death of his wife.
