"Rivers state shall not be conducive any more for criminals" Odesayan


The Rivers State Police Command has declared war against criminality in the state. The commissioner, Francis M. Odesanya made the declaration recently in a press briefing at Port Harcourt. 

He said the state will no longer be conducive for criminals, until they surrender. He maintained that with a proactive policing his command will implore the use of intelligence gathering to embark on regular raid of criminal hideouts.
According to him, "I pledge to fight crimes and criminality headlong. Rivers state shall not be conducive any more for criminals. We shall be proactive in our policing. Intelligence gathering shall be the hallmark of my administration. We shall embark on regular raid of criminal hideouts"

 "Ban on road block is still in force but I shall put in place descent stop and search mechanism which shall aid us in tracking kidnappers and armed robbers with the sole aim of recovering stolen properties".
Earlier, the commissioner frowned against the misconduct of some of his men collecting money from vehicles during their stop and search initiative, and  advised  members of the public to report any police caught collecting money from vehicle owners, stressing that over ninteen have been arrested by their patrol team and they are to face sanctions.

He however assured the people of Rivers to be law abiding.
 "CP Francis  wishes to assure the good people of the State to remain confident and trust in his ability to dutifully discharge the police constitutional mandate of ensuring public peace and security", pledging that his administration will be focused and non-partisan in the course of discharging their duties".

GFGG CONDNMS INEC ELECTION POSTPONEMENT CANVASS SUPPORT FOR PDP. A Group known as Greassroot for good Goverance (GFGG) has expressed disappointment over postponement of the 2019 general election on the day of the election describing it as a national embarrassment.  This was contained on a communiqué issued by the group after a critical assesnment of the issues that led to the election postpoment shorty after their meeting on Monday in Port Harcourt.
