Man Bags 97 Years Over N5.6m Fraud Justice A.O. Otaluka of the FCT High Court, sitting in Apo on Wednesday, March 27, 2019, sentenced one Clement Joseph, a.k.a Dr Omale to 97 years prison term with no option of fine. He was first arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on March 7, 2017 on a seven-count charge, bordering on conspiracy and obtaining money by false pretence to the tune of N5, 600, 000 (Five Million Six Million Naira) only. INEC Releases Timelines for the Collation and Declaration of Rivers Governorship Election INEC will hold security meeting in Rivers state on 29 March. CRITICAL STAKEHOLDERS meeting on 30th of March. Resumption of collation and announcement of results to hold 2 April 2019. It will hold between April 2 and 5.  There will be revalidation of polling agents and observers. Resumption of collation to start on 2 to 5th April 2019. The venue of the Collation will be agreed by critical stakeholders. Should there be need for Supplementary Elections,  it will hold on the 13th April, 2019.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) after a long silence has said 17 LGAs out of 23 collated are in their custody and as well fixed Wednesday, March 20, 2019 for the completion of polls in six local government areas of Rivers State where elections did not hold during March 9 gubernatorial and state house of assembly elections. The decision followed the report of the fact-finding committee set by the Commission to probe the disruption of the collation of results in areas of the state. The Commission, in a statement on Friday night, said that collated results in 17 local government areas of Rivers state are safe in the custody of INEC while results of 21 out 32 state constituencies of the state had been declared prior to the suspension of the process by INEC. It said it will proceed with the collation of the remaining results while the detailed timeline for completion of the election on Wednesday 20 would soon be released.
