10th Nass Assembly Newdawn Caucus Members assure Nigerians of robust legislation... Pledges support for Tajudeen, Kalu, and other principal officers

Just a few weeks away from the proclamation of the 10th National Assembly, a group known as Newdawn Caucus Members in the House of Representatives has reiterated the need for adequate legislation in transforming Nigeria. 


 The convener of the group, Hon. Marcus Onobun after a strategic meeting with newly elected lawmakers from all political platforms said the group is to ensure and equip all Members of the 10th Assembly in achieving their aims and objectives.



 Addressing lawmakers, the group's convener congratulated the Speaker of the 10th national assembly, Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, his Deputy Benjamin Kalu, and other Principal Officers for their successful emergence, promised to work in consonant with the Three Hundred and Sixty Members in the House in achieving a common goal. 



 According to Hon Marcus Onobun the Lawmaker representing Esan West/ Esan Central and Igueben Federal Constituency, "We met today to commend ourselves for roles played in galvanizing support for the leadership of Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas and Rt. Hon. Ben Kalu to reappraise the activities of the last three weeks. 


 "We support the leadership wholeheartedly and we want to maintain that healthy relationship with all the Three Hundred and Sixty Members of the House. Also, we're planning and putting together material resources to make laudable bills and motions that will aid the executives to help take Nigeria to the next level."


"We are also rededicating our commitments to the leadership of the 10th Assembly as well as committing ourselves to the development of our dear Nation. We came to the 10th Assembly under different political platforms but we see ourselves here to do the Nigeria business. What we are saying is that Nigerians should expect a very robust engagement in the next few weeks."


 The caucus meeting which was held on Monday night was attended by a huge number of newly elected lawmakers comprising of all political parties, having Hon. Jeremiah Umaru as Secretary, and Hon. Ojotu Ojema as spokesperson.
