National Assembly: Shiites protest turns bloody

A protest by members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (ISM), also known as Shiites, at the National Assembly has turned bloody as an officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) were shot in the process on Tuesday and many others got injured!

President Buhari begins visit to Budo in Rivers State

"Rivers state shall not be conducive any more for criminals" Odesayan

The Rivers State Police Command has declared war against criminality in the state. The commissioner, Francis M. Odesanya made the declaration recently in a press briefing at Port Harcourt.  He said the state will no longer be conducive for criminals, until they surrender. He maintained that with a proactive policing his command will implore the use of intelligence gathering to embark on regular raid of criminal hideouts. According to him, "I pledge to fight crimes and criminality headlong. Rivers state shall not be conducive any more for criminals. We shall be proactive in our policing. Intelligence gathering shall be the hallmark of my administration. We shall embark on regular raid of criminal hideouts"  "Ban on road block is still in force but I shall put in place descent stop and search mechanism which shall aid us in tracking kidnappers and armed robbers with the sole aim of recovering stolen properties".
