Rivers 2019: IPAC to face setback as 45 Political Parties floats new group called CPPC

As 2019 general election draws near, no fewer that 45 political parties in Rivers State have floated a new body contrary to Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC).

According to the spokes person of the group, Pastor Ezekiel Warigbani while addressing newsmen recently said the group "Concerned Political Party Chairmen" CPPC was formed in alliance with over forty political parties in Rivers state. He noted that the move was to galvanize support for good governance in the state as well, coming together to field a befitting candidate that will oust governor Nyesome Wike in 2019.

In his words "The Concerned Political Party Chairmen on Rivers State  after a critical meeting held today 25/07/2018 wish to intimate the general public that we are separate body from IPAC and not in anyway controlled by IPAC and it's leadership but are authentic members of IPAC in the State.

That in cause of our continuous consultations, the membership of the Concerned Political Party Chairmen have increased from 40 and 45 Political  Parties fully ready to give Rivers State and her people a good governance and people's oriented government come 2019 and are  still consulting with other political parties and stakeholders on the State.

We hereby  disabuse the minds of Rivers people from believing the rumors making around, discrediting the good works and intentions of our body ( the CPPC)  in Rivers State

We call on the good people of Rivers State to rally around and support us in our quest to giving Rivers State credible governorship candidate that will take the State to the next level."

He added that the body has nothing to do with IPAC or PDP rather its an independent body with a unique purpose.##
