My Response to Mr. Akeodi Ali's misconception against Engr. Ngerebara

Haven read through your analysis, I am particularly interested in the analysis of Engr. Sampson Ngerebara. This is to set certain misinformation straight. Let me acknowledge the time taken to carry out this SWOT analysis and quickly state that it appears the analysis was skewed to favour a particular interest. This has put a question of credibility of the analysis.

While I appreciate your acknowledgement of the worth and pedigree of the person of Engr Sampson Ngeregbara as undoubtedly the most suitable and better qualified candidate for the governor of the State, I totally  disagree on what you termed his weaknesses.

You considered that his age makes him unfit for the office because the other contenders are younger. I disagree with you on the simple fact that Engr Sampson Ngerebara is not as old as you may have perceived or think. Sampson Ngerebara entered into the political fora at a very tender age and rose to become the Commissioner of Works & Transport in the old Rivers State at the age of 28. He should be in his early or mid fifty going by calculation.

Do you consider this as old?

By the way, what is the average age of all the contenders mentioned in your analysis?

He contributed imensely to the development of Rivers State then and still contributing. This shows the high capacity that he possesses.

Performance is not synonymous with age, it has to do with wisdom, experience and capacity an individual has and this you have already admitted that he has to his credit.

Talking about young people occupying leadership position in Nigeria, the case of the present Kogi state governor comes of mind. Have you considered his performance viz a viz his predecessor who did far better than he is doing. Now this is not to make a case that young people can not do well in leadership positions. We have had young governors who have badly mismanaged their states. You don't need to look far. There have been older governors who have delivered excellently

It's good to have you note him as a hero. He is a hero who's got energy and zeal and the requisite acumen for the job. In case you dont know, Sampson is also an accomplished and recognised Engineer. A Fellow of the Nigeria Society of Engineer and has authored several Engineering paper. He is a specialist in Power System Engineering. He is the team leader of Intedeco Nigeria Limited. Intedeco has done unquantifiable number of Jobs for SPDC ranging from power station Engineering design & installation, transmission lines, rural electrification projects. In all of these, he led the team both in the design and installation, working with his hands unlike several other contestants who can not boast of doing well in their private enterprise apart from holding political positions.

Politics is not a career and this Engr Sampson has been able to established which is also a lesson for young generation as ours. Indeed Rivers State needs the like of Sampson who have managed their personnel business well to take hold and manage the state unlike the present leadership we have in Government house.

Now, If Our Leader RCA and majority of the people think he is the right Man for the Job then, Let's give him 'this mountain'.

Secondly, the argument of his having joined the party two years ago will also not hold water.

How old is the party?

Sixteen years? I think not.

The party is just three years and to be considered for exclusion on the basis of joining a year after its establishment is not only morally wrong, it's illegal, contrary to the principles of natural justice, equity and good conscience. Should you not know, Sampson contributed immensely to APC prior to the 2015 governorship election even before officially joining the party. He worked for the party at the background and also tirelessly during the re-run.

With respect, it's tantamount to self contradiction to term the same man you classify as having local acceptability also as not being very accepted in the home front. What's the distinction between locality and the home front. The same man you admitted to having the most thriving and longest standing NGO in the state now has waned popularity? This argument is akin to giving a dog a bad name just to hang him.

Engr, Sampson Ngerebara has got the clout, the know-how, the requisite experience and exposure for the job. The reasons to have him as the party's flag bearer are higher ideals that cannot be surmounted or displaced by mere academic arguments.

If experience, capacity, tenacity and integrity are factors to be considered, then Engr  Sampson Ngerebara stands tall . We need a candidate who has integrity, who can be relied upon by low level party people.

A candidate who has no moral burdens and a bridge between the old and young.

We need a candidate who knows how to navigate the stormy waters of Rivers Politics to deliver results. We need a candidate who possess the capacity to challenge Wike and edge him out of the brick house. APC needs no other than Engr Sampson Ngerebara, he stands out.
