Police Storms Kidnappers Handout


The Rivers State Police Command in its onslaught against arm banditry in the State, has recorded a significant breakthrough as Operatives of the Anti – kidnapping unit, led by the Commander SP Edward Shadare at about 430pm, following a tip off/ call analysis of the kidnappers phone, demanding for ransom, the team tracked and traced them to their hideout at Choba, where on sighting the Police the hoodlums opened fire and were repelled at the end of which three of them were fatally wounded while two of our men sustained gunshot wounds.


Following the shoot out, three kidnapped victims were rescued.


They are:


  (1)     Timi Endure ‘f’


  (2)    Nasi Fatima ‘f’


   Eze Wilson ‘m’ a staff of NTA Port Harcourt who was kidnapped on the 20th of January, 2017. They were rescued unhurt. They have also been debriefed and united with their families.


Items recovered from the hoodlums include;


Two pump Action Riffles


20 Rounds live Cartridges 


However one of the kidnappers escaped, the kidnappers are said to have been responsible for series of kidnapping incidents around the Choba/Ada George and Obiri Ikwerre axis of Port Harcourt.


Efforts are on to track the fleeing hoodlum.

Tension, as unknown gunmen whisk away Man on his birthday

The adoption of Mr Chinedu Nwachukwu yesterday in Port Harcourt City metropolis has continued to generate reactions as the security issues within south East and Rivers State gets worsen day by day. It was gathered that the incident occurred about 7:15pm along Chuba-Ozuoba road when some faceless armed men apprehended Mr Chinedu an Architect and renown husband to the gallant police officer whose life has been threatened over the years after leading an operation to raid a group of armed robbery gang in Abia State. Jubilation as NDDC set to complete Igwruta-Etche Road

The Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, has ordered the contractor handling the Dualization of Igwruta-Etche Road to return to site immediately. The NDDC Executive Director Projects Engr.
