Police Storms Kidnappers Handout


The Rivers State Police Command in its onslaught against arm banditry in the State, has recorded a significant breakthrough as Operatives of the Anti – kidnapping unit, led by the Commander SP Edward Shadare at about 430pm, following a tip off/ call analysis of the kidnappers phone, demanding for ransom, the team tracked and traced them to their hideout at Choba, where on sighting the Police the hoodlums opened fire and were repelled at the end of which three of them were fatally wounded while two of our men sustained gunshot wounds.


Following the shoot out, three kidnapped victims were rescued.


They are:


  (1)     Timi Endure ‘f’


  (2)    Nasi Fatima ‘f’


   Eze Wilson ‘m’ a staff of NTA Port Harcourt who was kidnapped on the 20th of January, 2017. They were rescued unhurt. They have also been debriefed and united with their families.


Items recovered from the hoodlums include;


Two pump Action Riffles


20 Rounds live Cartridges 


However one of the kidnappers escaped, the kidnappers are said to have been responsible for series of kidnapping incidents around the Choba/Ada George and Obiri Ikwerre axis of Port Harcourt.


Efforts are on to track the fleeing hoodlum.





 


2. The Command wishes to appeal to the good people of the State to rekindle their trust in the Police and always feel free to share information with us, as we are prepared to do battle with the criminal elements in the State.

Victoria Wobo Nyeche(APC), member of the Rivers State House of Assembly, representing Port Harcourt Constituency 1, staged a walkout of the Assembly Chamber because she would not like to be associated with obvious illegality.
