Police begins 20hr curfew in Rivers

RESTRICTION OF MOVEMENT ON THE ELECTION DAY



The Rivers State Police Command wishes to inform the general public that after due consultation with relevant Stake-Holders superintending over the forthcoming Legislative Re-Run Elections in the State, has placed the following Restriction Orders to wit:


That there will be total restriction of movement of persons and vehicles. Between the Hours of 12 midnight on Friday 9/12/2016 and 8 PM on Saturday 10th Dec, 2016, both on land and waterways.


2. The Command further wishes to emphasize that important personalities and Politicians are barred from going to any Voting centre with their security details. They are also warned to desist from moving from one place to another on the Election Day, as provided under the Electoral Act. Movement is strictly restricted from place of abode to voting centres and back.


3. The Police and other Security Agencies will be moving to ensure Strict Compliance.


Once again, the Commissioner of Police Rivers State, CP Francis M. Odesanya, appeals for the continued support and cooperation of the members of the Public in this regard. As this is intended to provide a conducive atmosphere to conduct free, fair, and violence free election that will stand the test of time.

Tension, as unknown gunmen whisk away Man on his birthday

The adoption of Mr Chinedu Nwachukwu yesterday in Port Harcourt City metropolis has continued to generate reactions as the security issues within south East and Rivers State gets worsen day by day. It was gathered that the incident occurred about 7:15pm along Chuba-Ozuoba road when some faceless armed men apprehended Mr Chinedu an Architect and renown husband to the gallant police officer whose life has been threatened over the years after leading an operation to raid a group of armed robbery gang in Abia State. Keshi Died Out Of Mourning Wife?

  Investigations indicates that the former Super Eagles choach Stephen Keshi died while mourning his Wife. Sources diclosed that the wife Mrs. Kate Keshi died arround December 2015 following a protracted illness. According to a family brother named Ado who disclosed the news noted that  ''Keshi never recovered from the death of Kate; they were inseparable. He has gone to meet Kate. Since the wife died Keshi has kept on mourning and has been in sorrow. All these time Keshi has been acting, giving the impression that he was fine and man enough to bear the sorrow but the truth actually is that he was down and in pain over the death of his wife. From companionship to cooking and other domestic matters nobody could be like his wife to him; they were irreplaceable.
