Sen. Abe receives Ogiri and over 4,000 defectors from PDP

It was a mass jubilation in Rivers State as one of the big political chieftain took a bow from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressive Congress.

Shortly after Dr. Henry Ogiri formally defected into the APC with over 4000 supporters in Abua/Odua Local Government Area and across the state, residents in Rivers have began to react over the defection of the political chieftain into the APC.

According to some analysts over the weekend, described the defection of the former NDDC boss from Peoples Democratic Party as a step in the right direction that will frustrate many politicians whom he assisted while in his previous party.

Recall Dr. Ogiri was the then Director of Finance in NDDC that supported the last administration to gain victory during the 2015 governorship election in Rivers.

In his speech he said, whoever that is still ''dreaming'' of seeing any PDP logo around him should wake up from his/her sleep, noting that such dream is a bad one for them.
For the part of Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi Who was represented by the Rivers South East Senatorial candidate, in the yet to be concluded rerun, Sen. Magnus Ngei Abe. said Dr Ogiri has returned back to the party where he originally belong. He said governor Nyesome Wike was never the person that kept Ogiri in PDP rather it was out of the sympathy he had for the former president of Nigeria Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.
He however enjoined Ogiri's supporters never to be deterred stressing that PDP has already collapsed following the defection of Ogiri.

Highlights of the event was a grand reception in honour of the former NDDC boss in his country home at Abua and a formal handing over of the party's symbolic broom.
