CP. FOLUSO A. ADEBANJO ASSUMES DUTY AS 36th RIVERS STATE COMMISSIONER OF POLICE
The Rivers State Police command wishes to inform the general public that CP. Foluso A. Adebanjo, mni has assumed duty as the 36th Rivers State Commissioner of Police. He succeeded CP. Musa Kimo, who is now deployed to Force Headquarters, Abuja.
The new Commissioner of Police joined the Nigeria Police in 1984 as Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police and rose through the ranks to his present rank of Commissioner of Police in 2012. He is a holder of bachelor and masters degrees in Criminology/Criminal Justice Administration and Management obtained from the University of Central Oklahoma, United States of America. He is an alumnus of the elitist National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, Jos.
He has served in various capacities in the force, he was in the recent past the Commissioner of Police Explosive Ordinance Disposal (Anti-Bomb), Force Headquarters, Abuja and Commissioner of Police Edo State Command. He was until his present posting a Commissioner of Police, Force Headquarters, Abuja.
CP. Foluso A. Adebanjo, a versatile police officer with impeccable track records in crime fighting, attended various development courses both at home and abroad.
While assuring the good people of Rivers State to remain confident and trusting in his ability to dutifully discharge the police constitutional mandate of ensuring public peace and security; the Commissioner of Police appeals for their cooperation, support and understanding to enable him put in place virile and sustained security architecture that will bring the crime level in the state to an appreciable level.

Fresh Crisis in Rivers as Anabs, NGOs and others Rejects INEC Result Collation A foremost elder statesman Anabs Sara-Igbe and coalitions of Non Governmental Organizations  has rejected the onward collation of results by the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC. Addressing a large crowd  in a mega protest held  in Port Harcourt, Anabs Sara-Igbe maintained that the entire collation process should be canceled with  immediate effect, and INEC should conduct a fresh Election following their inability to do the right thing. In his views, he called on President Mohammadu Buhari to intervene stressing that what is happening in Rivers state is beyond autocracy alleging that both the incumbent governor of the state and  INEC are playing games. The elder statesman who also doubles as the spokesperson to Pan -Niger Delta Forum   also noted that the results being collated by INEC will not stand in as much as INEC did comprised.
