There are strong indications that the Minister for Niger Delta Affairs, His Excellency Godswill Akpabio may resign within the next 90days as Court of Appeal sitting in Calabar, Cross Rivers State ruled in favour of the incumbent minister.
The Appealed court in today's judgement nullified the election of Dr. Chris Ekpenyong who was wrongly declared winner of the February 23, 2019 National Assembly election in Akwa Ibom North West Senatorial District.
Recalled that the current minister was the All Progressive Congress candidate for Nort West senatorial district in Akwa Ibom during the last general election.
It was however gathered that as a result of the ruling, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has been ordered to withdraw the Certificate of Return issued to Dr. Chris Ekpenyong and conduct fresh elections in the Akwa Ibom North West Senatorial District within ninety days, whereby enabling the current minister to contest in the forth coming senatorial election.
