BENUE AND RIVERS STATE KILLINGS: IGP DEPLOYS FIVE UNITS OF POLICE MOBILE FORCE, ORDERS AERIAL SURVEILLANCE  The Inspector General of Police, IGP Ibrahim K. Idris has ordered Commissioners of Police in charge of Benue, Rivers and other contiguous States to the two States and their Supervising Assistant Inspectors General of Police and their personnel to be on red-alert with immediate effect to nip in the bud and prevent further attacks on innocent Nigerians by suspected herdsmen and other criminal elements in the mentioned States. In a statement signed by the Force Spokesperson, CSP Jimoh Moshood, the IGP has directed the Deputy Inspector General of Police Operations to Benue and Rivers State to muster, coordinate and supervise the implementation of the new security strategies put in place by the Force to put an immediate end to the senseless killings and violence unleashed on innocent Nigerians by suspected herdsmen and other criminal elements in the two States.  CSP Jimoh Moshood furt

LAGOS POLICE ARREST BADOO CULT LEADER, CHIEF HERBALIST  ...Demolish Shrine In Imosan Village The Lagos State Police Command on Tuesday made a major breakthrough in the fight against the menace of Badoo cult with the arrest of the group's herbalist, Fatai Adebayo alias Alese. The notorious activities of the dreaded cult group prevalent in Ikorodu and Epe axis of the State had sent many of the victims to their early graves with cruel killings through the smashing of mortar and pestle on victims' heads. Adebayo, 34, who specializes in administering oath on members of the group before they launch any attack, was arrested at his shrine located in Imosan Village, a suburb of Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State. The arrest of the herbalist followed the arrest of some Badoo cult suspects at the weekend including the overall head of the group.   Full text: Muhammadu Buhari’s 2018 New Year address I join my fellow citizens this morning to welcome and celebrate the New Year 2018. This year promises to be pivotal in our quest for CHANGE.   Unfortunately, I am saddened to acknowledge that for many this Christmas and New Year holidays have been anything but merry and happy.
